Northern California rattled by 5.4 magnitude earthquake

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Plumas County area of Northern California on Thursday afternoon, with several aftershocks occurring near the epicenter. The earthquake was felt in several cities across multiple counties, and even in Reno, Nevada. The California Highway Patrol Yuba-Sutter division's dispatch cellphone 911 lines are currently down after the earthquake caused a disruption. Reports of a slide and damage have been received, and people are being asked to call 911 immediately if they notice any damage or smell, or see any gas or downed powerlines.
