Police believe that missing 17-year-old Brissa Romero was inside her vehicle when it plunged into a retention pond in Vernon Hills, based on evidence at the scene and surveillance footage. Brissa was last seen entering a fast food restaurant alone before driving away, and her phone pinged near the location where her vehicle was recovered. Despite recovering her vehicle and backpack, Brissa's body has not been found. Her family is still holding out hope and plans to continue their outreach efforts.
