Fatal Osprey Crash in Japan Claims Lives of US Military Crew Members

The US military has identified all eight crew members who were on board the Air Force CV-22 Osprey that crashed off the coast of Yakushima Island, Japan. After transitioning from search and rescue to search and recovery operations, the remains of three airmen have been recovered, three have been located and are in the process of being recovered, and two have not yet been located. The recovery operation involves personnel and assets from multiple military branches and Japanese allies. The families of the deceased have been notified, and support services are available to them.
