Water Outages Impact Thousands in Howard and DeKalb Counties

A drinking water main rupture at the Elkridge Pumping Station in Howard County has caused water outages and low pressure for approximately 100,000 residents, primarily in the Elkridge and Long Reach areas. Crews are working to repair the 36-inch water main, and affected customers have been switched to alternative water sources. The county executive assures that once the water is restored, it will be safe to use, and there is no need to boil water. The cause of the water main break is still unknown.
