"North Carolina's Egg-cellent Role in the White House Easter Egg Roll"

A family farm in North Carolina has donated 30,000 hard-boiled and dyed eggs for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The eggs were boiled and dyed by a catering and events company in Winston-Salem, and will be delivered to Washington in time for the event. The donation comes despite a nationwide egg shortage caused by an outbreak of avian flu and other supply-chain problems. In addition to the egg roll, the event will include musical entertainment, games and photo opportunities. The American Egg Board has arranged for a company to compost the eggs for use in parks and community gardens after the event.
