E. Jean Carroll Testifies Against Trump in Rape Case

Writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused former President Donald Trump of raping her in the 1990s, was questioned by Trump's lawyer during a civil trial. Carroll maintained that the attack happened while shopping with Trump in a Manhattan department store in 1995 or 1996. Trump's lawyer repeatedly suggested her claim was made up. Carroll acknowledged that she thought disclosing the attack in her book would help sales, but said she was wrong. She said she was inspired to come forward by a New York Times story on sexual misconduct allegations against movie producer Harvey Weinstein. Carroll described the torrent of abuse she's received online echoing Trump's insults about her.
