"Tragic Loss: Austin SWAT Officer Identified in Fatal Hostage Standoff"

Austin Police Department has identified Jorge Pastore as the SWAT officer who was shot and killed during a hostage standoff on Saturday morning. Pastore, who joined the department in 2019, is survived by his wife, two stepsons, parents, and two sisters. Another SWAT officer was also injured but is in stable condition. Four people, including the suspect, died in the incident. This is the first line-of-duty shooting of an Austin police officer in about a decade.
