San Pedro Bridge Closure Causes Traffic Disruption on I-40

The San Pedro bridge over I-40 in Albuquerque has been closed in both directions due to heavy rain causing a large piece of concrete to hit a bridge pier. Inspectors from the New Mexico Department of Transportation will need to survey the bridge for damage once the water recedes. Additionally, lane closures on I-40 between San Mateo and Louisiana Boulevard have been announced for emergency repairs and safety precautions. The closures are expected to remain in place until further notice.
