"RIDOT's Summer Inspection Report Reveals Troublesome I-195 Bridge"

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has released the inspection report of the Washington Bridge, which revealed structural concerns that led to the emergency closure of the westbound side. The report showed that the bridge's anchor rods, dating back to 1968, had failed, causing damage and instability. RIDOT Director Peter Alviti released the report to dispel rumors and prove transparency. The bridge, listed as structurally deficient, had a poor overall condition in the July inspection report. RIDOT is working on creating a bypass lane to alleviate traffic delays.
