"Haitian Migrant Charged with Raping Teen in U.S. Sparks Political Controversy"

The Department of Homeland Security has condemned the alleged rape of a disabled 15-year-old girl by a Haitian migrant, Cory Alvarez, who entered the U.S. through President Biden’s CHNV parole program. This program allows individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly into the U.S. and be granted two years of humanitarian parole. Alvarez, who is charged with aggravated rape of a child, entered the U.S. lawfully and is being held without bail. The DHS stated that the alleged crime is heinous and individuals should be held responsible to the fullest extent under the law.
