Independence Day 2023: Open and Closed Businesses

On the 4th of July, state and federal offices, banks, libraries, and mail delivery services are closed in observance of the federal Independence Day holiday. Most metered parking is free, but private meters may still be enforced. Garbage collection in Minneapolis and St. Paul will be delayed by one day. Metro Transit will operate with holiday service and fares, but Northstar Commuter Line trains won't operate. Most major retail stores are open, but modified hours may apply.
