WW2 Submarine USS Harder Discovered Off Philippines

The wreckage of the USS Harder, a US Navy submarine that sank the most Japanese warships during World War II, has been found 3,000ft below water off the Philippines' northern island of Luzon. The submarine, which was lost in battle on 29 August 1944 with its crew of 79 men, was discovered by the Lost 52 project. The USS Harder played a significant role in the war, sinking three Japanese destroyers and heavily damaging two others in one of its final patrols, contributing to the Japanese defeat.
