TikTok Surgeon 'Dr. Roxy' Stripped of Medical License for Livestreaming Surgeries

Dr. Katharine Roxanne Grawe, a plastic surgeon known as "Dr. Roxy" who livestreamed procedures on TikTok, has had her medical license permanently revoked by the State Medical Board of Ohio. The board found that Grawe neglected her patients by livestreaming their surgeries, speaking into a camera, and answering viewer questions during the procedures. Grawe claimed she used social media to break down barriers between patients and practitioners but acknowledged that her actions were unprofessional and offended her patients and colleagues. The board cited cases of patients experiencing complications after surgeries performed by Grawe, including one patient who suffered a perforated bowel and serious bacterial infection. Grawe's license had been suspended since November 2021.
