Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee Diagnosed with Curable Cancer

Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.) has been diagnosed with a "serious but curable form of cancer," specifically squamous cell carcinoma, after doctors discovered a small tumor in one of his tonsils. He will undergo surgery to remove the cancer and is expected to recover well. Kildee will be away from the office for a period of time during his recovery. He is one of several lawmakers to announce a cancer diagnosis in recent months.
