Maui's Reopening Plan Modified as Governor Extends Wildfire Emergency Proclamation

Hawaii Governor Josh Green has extended the emergency proclamation relating to wildfires in Maui, with changes that allow the return of visitors to West Maui starting October 8. The State Water Code is fully restored, and most historic preservation measures are reinstated, with the exception of emergency demolition and debris removal. Price increases are limited to specific essential commodities, and the prohibition cannot exceed regular prices as of August 9. The proclamation is in effect until November 6, 2023.
