13-year-old hero takes control of school bus after driver passes out

A 7th-grade student in Detroit is being praised for his quick thinking after his school bus driver passed out at the wheel. The driver became lightheaded before losing consciousness while driving the bus. The student saw the driver in distress, stepped to the front of the bus, and helped bring it to a stop without incident. Police and fire departments responded to the incident quickly, and the students were safely loaded onto a different bus to make their way home. There is no update on the driver’s condition at this time.
