Religious Discrimination Alleged in School District's Extracurricular Ban

Parents of parochial school students in Pennsylvania have filed a lawsuit against the State College Area School District (SCASD), alleging that the district violated their religious rights by denying their children participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The lawsuit claims that SCASD's non-discrimination policy allows students from charter schools and homeschooling to participate, but not students from religious schools. The parents seek a court order to allow religious school students to take part in these activities. The district has not commented on the pending litigation.
