Newton Teachers' Strike Resolved with Pay Hike Agreement

The Newton School Committee and the Newton Teachers Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract, ending the teachers' strike, and students will return to classrooms on Monday. The contract, which requires ratification from NTA members and a majority vote of the School Committee, includes increased compensation for all employees, particularly building and classroom aides, and maintains Newton as a leader in benefits.
