Lee Roberts, Former State Budget Director, Named Interim Chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill

Lee Roberts, a Duke graduate and managing partner of SharpVue Capital, has been named interim chancellor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Roberts, who has an extensive background in finance and politics, including serving as the state budget director for former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, plans to approach the role in a nonpartisan way. While some speculate political influence in the appointment, former UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp believes Roberts is a great choice. Roberts' term will officially begin on January 12, and a nationwide search for a permanent chancellor will be launched in the coming months.
