"Former Navy SEAL's College Experience Inspires Innovative Class"

James Hatch, a former Navy SEAL, enrolled in college at the age of 52 and his unique perspective led to the creation of a new class at Yale University. Hatch, who served in the military for over 20 years, including missions in Iraq, Bosnia, Africa, and Afghanistan, is now studying as a humanities major. Reflecting on his college experience, Hatch emphasizes the importance of humility and learning from literature. He has also advocated for reflection and dialogue on the choices made during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Hatch is set to graduate next spring and continues his work with the nonprofit organization he founded, Spike's K9 Fund.
