Daily Salinas said she complained because the books did not support the curriculum, but she is not an expert and not a book person. Gorman rejected the school's defense that her poem was restricted, not banned, and Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has invited Gorman to perform a reading of her poem in the county.
