Butler University Introduces Debt-Free Two-Year College Program for Underserved Students

Butler University has announced the creation of a two-year, debt-free associate degree program for students with financial need, making it the third US college to join the network offering such a program. After earning an associate degree, students will have the opportunity to receive a bachelor's degree from Butler University for approximately $10,000. The program aims to support students of color, first-generation college students, and those from low-income households. It will be funded through endowments and donations and is set to begin enrolling students in Fall 2025. The initiative comes in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to effectively end affirmative action at colleges and universities.
