Global Botnet Dismantled, Administrator Arrested in Major Cybercrime Bust

Federal investigators dismantled the 911 S5 Botnet, one of the world's largest malicious botnets, and arrested its administrator, YunHe Wang, a Chinese national. The botnet facilitated billions in fraudulent transactions, including COVID relief fraud, by compromising 19 million IP addresses globally. Wang allegedly made over $99 million from selling access to these IP addresses to cybercriminals. The FBI, with international cooperation, seized 23 domains and over 70 servers, and continues to investigate the network.
