Controversy Surrounds Opening of Largest Hindu Temple in US

The largest Hindu temple in the United States, the Akshardham Mahamandir, has opened in Robbinsville, New Jersey, after 12 years of construction involving over 12,500 volunteers. Standing at 191 feet tall and covering 87,975 square feet, the temple is also the second-largest Hindu temple in the world. The opening week celebrations featured various themes related to Indian culture and Hindu values, and the festivities will conclude with a grand dedication ceremony. The temple is adorned with 10,000 statues and 151 carvings of ancient Indian musical instruments, and it has received congratulations from world leaders.
