"Utah children's book author accused of taking out $2M life insurance before husband's murder"

Kouri Richins, a Utah children's book author accused of murdering her husband, allegedly took out nearly $2 million in life insurance policies on him prior to his death. Eric Richins' family told authorities he had been in fear for his life after Kouri allegedly tried to poison him once several years ago in Greece and again on Valentine's Day 2022. Kouri is accused of poisoning Eric with a Moscow Mule spiked with fentanyl while they were celebrating a home sale on March 3, 2022. She allegedly closed a deal on a $2 million mansion alone the next day and hosted a party at her home.
