Suspect Arrested for Driving Through Fence at South Carolina Nuclear Plant

A man has been arrested after allegedly driving through a fence at the Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina and attempting to hit a security officer with his vehicle. Doyle Wayne Whisenhunt, 66, has been charged with attempted murder, malicious injury to personal property, unlawful entry into an enclosed place, and a hit-and-run charge from a separate incident. Whisenhunt was apprehended at an abandoned home and was not authorized to be on the nuclear plant's property. The motive behind the incident has not been disclosed.
