"Stolen Phone Leads to Conviction in Gruesome Alaska Double Murder Case"

A South African man, Brian Steven Smith, was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of two Alaska Native women after a woman stole his phone and found gruesome murder footage. The videos showed Smith strangling one victim and shooting the other after she refused to shower. Despite Smith pleading guilty to all charges, the jury convicted him based on the evidence found on the stolen phone.
