Stepdad Attacks Stepdaughter's Killer in California Court Chaos

A convicted killer, Euren Balbuena, was sentenced to 33 years to life in prison for stabbing his girlfriend to death, when chaos erupted in a California courtroom as the victim's stepfather lunged at and punched Balbuena during the emotional victim impact statements. Balbuena had been convicted of first-degree murder, battery causing great bodily injury, and assault with a deadly weapon against the victim's mother. The attack occurred in 2020 when Balbuena stabbed his girlfriend more than 30 times with several knives. Following the sentencing, the district attorney expressed hope that the sentence would bring some relief to the victim's family.
