Spouses and Drain Cleaner: A Deadly Combination

A California dermatologist has been indicted on three felony counts of poisoning and one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury for allegedly poisoning her husband with liquid drain cleaner. The husband installed cameras in the kitchen and collected samples of the beverage, which were later confirmed to be consistent with liquid drain cleaner. The dermatologist's attorney claims that the husband engineered these events in order to take advantage of her in divorce court. If convicted on all counts, the dermatologist faces a maximum sentence of eight years and eight months.
