Sex Offender Arrested for Multiple Child Victims and Child Pornography

A registered sex offender in Hays County, Texas, has received additional charges after evidence of an additional victim was found. The 24-year-old man, Diego Alejandro Cortez, was arrested earlier this month for harboring a runaway child and child trafficking. The Hays County Sheriff's Office discovered pictures and videos depicting child pornography on Cortez's phone. A 13-year-old victim was identified, and she revealed multiple sexual encounters with Cortez, which was corroborated by his confession and evidence. Cortez is currently in jail facing charges including harboring a runaway, trafficking a child, possession of child pornography, and continuous sex abuse of a child under 14.
