"Second Man Charged in 2005 Theft of 'Wizard of Oz' Ruby Slippers"

A second man, Jerry Hal Saliterman, has been charged in connection with the 2005 theft of Judy Garland's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz." Saliterman, 76, faces charges of theft of a major artwork and witness tampering. The slippers, stolen from the Judy Garland Museum, were recovered by the FBI in 2018. The man who stole the slippers, Terry Jon Martin, pleaded guilty in October and was sentenced to time served due to poor health. The slippers' market value is estimated at about $3.5 million, and they are currently being held by an auction house for sale.
