RI Councilman Resigns After Being Found Asleep with Crack Pipe in Hand

Rhode Island councilman Matt Reilly has resigned after being found asleep in his car with a crack pipe in his hand. Police found crack-cocaine and fentanyl in his car. Reilly disclosed his history with drugs, saying it was a relapse after being sober for 13 years. Cranston's Mayor Ken Hopkins called for Reilly's resignation and urged him to focus on his recovery. Reilly is facing a drug possession charge and there will be a special election to fill the vacant seat.
