Remembering the Heroic Victims of the Nashville Shooting

Katherine Koonce, the head of Nashville's Covenant School, ran towards the sound of gunfire during Monday's mass shooting at the private Christian elementary school, according to a city councilman. Koonce was one of six people killed by the shooter, who fired through the school's glass doors to enter the building. The councilman said Koonce had sought advanced-level active-shooter training, which saved countless lives. The other victims were three 9-year-old children, a substitute teacher, and a custodian. Police shot and killed the shooter inside the school just minutes after they arrived at the scene.
