Proud Boys take the stand in Capitol breach trial.

Dominic Pezzola, a member of the far-right Proud Boys group, testified in his own defense on Tuesday, admitting to breaking a window of the U.S. Capitol building with a riot shield on Jan. 6, 2021, but denying any involvement in a plot to upend the 2020 election results. Pezzola claimed he got caught up in the "craziness" and acted out of fear for his own life due to police aggression. He testified to clear his co-defendants' names, who he claimed he had only met in court. Prosecutors have depicted Pezzola as key to the Proud Boys' plot to lead the mob into violent action.
