"Proud Boys Leaders Face Stiffest Sentence Yet: 33 Years"

Federal prosecutors have recommended that two top leaders of the far-right Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio and Joseph Biggs, be sentenced to 33 years in prison for their involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, the harshest penalties requested so far in the investigation. The prosecutors also asked for lengthy prison terms for three other defendants in the case. They argued that the defendants understood the gravity of their actions and aimed to exert their political will through force, attempting to overturn the results of a democratic election. The prosecutors requested a terrorism enhancement to increase the severity of the sentences.
