Police Fatally Shoot Woman Pointing Gun at 3-Year-Old Child

Police in San Bernardino, California, shot and killed a woman, Darvet Brown, after she was seen pointing a gun at a 3-year-old boy's head. Responding to a 911 call, officers found Brown inside a home, where she had barricaded herself with the child. Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, Brown continued to threaten the child's life. The officers fired their weapons to protect the child, who was unharmed. Brown, who was not related to the child, was described as a close friend experiencing a mental health episode. An investigation is ongoing.
