NYC Professor Charged for Threatening Reporter with Machete

Shellyne Rodriguez, a New York City professor, surrendered to police and was charged with menacing and harassment after allegedly threatening a New York Post reporter with a machete. Rodriguez claims she is the victim and that the incident has taken a toll on her mental health. Hunter College fired her after seeing video of the confrontation, and The School of Visual Arts is reviewing her employment. Rodriguez is also a faculty member at the latter institution.
