Massive Drug Bust: Over $10 Million Worth of Meth and Cocaine Disguised as Jalapeño Paste Seized

A shipment of jalapeño paste was found to contain over $10 million worth of cocaine and methamphetamines at the U.S.-Mexico border crossing in San Diego. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized nearly 350 packages of jalapeno paste, which contained more than 3,000 pounds of methamphetamine and over 500 pounds of cocaine. A 28-year-old man driving a commercial tractor-trailer was arrested, and the drugs were estimated to have a street value of $10,430,000. This seizure is part of a series of successful drug busts in California, with recent incidents involving the U.S. Coast Guard confiscating over $239 million worth of cocaine and U.S. Customs and Border Protection seizing over 14,000 pounds of narcotics at land ports of entry.
