Maryland Children Stop Attempted Kidnapping at Bus Stop

A 30-year-old man, Jamaal Germany, was arrested for attempting to kidnap a child waiting at a bus stop in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County. Germany allegedly grabbed a Redland Middle School student and tried to pull the child into a nearby apartment building. Other students at the bus stop intervened, and the victim was able to escape. The incident was reported to the school, and Germany was taken into custody. Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Germany to come forward. The principals of three schools in the area sent a joint letter home to families, reassuring them of increased security measures at the impacted bus stop.
