Madalina Cojocari's Mother Faces New Drug Charges in Jail

Diana Cojocari, the mother of missing 12-year-old Madalina Cojocari, has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance while in jail. She was found with white powder testing positive for cocaine- and fentanyl-based substances in her shirt pocket during a search. Diana has been held at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center since December 2022 when she was charged with failing to report the disappearance of her daughter. Madalina was last seen getting off a school bus just before Thanksgiving and investigators are continuing their search to find her.
