Long-lost women found: Melissa Highsmith and Christine Rockwell identified after decades.

The Fort Worth Police Department confirmed the identity of Melissa Highsmith, who was abducted by a babysitter 51 years ago when she was 22 months old. Although the statute of limitations on possible criminal charges expired, the department continues to ask for the public’s help with information about the abduction. Highsmith's family spent decades trying to find her and discovered her through DNA testing. After the reunification, Highsmith told her family that her life had been hard and she ran away from home at 15.
