Iowa Teen Receives Life Sentence for Fatal Assault on Spanish Teacher

Willard Miller, one of two Iowa teenagers who pleaded guilty to beating their high school Spanish teacher to death with a baseball bat, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 35 years. The attack occurred in 2021 when Miller and Jeremy Goodale, both 16 at the time, assaulted Nohema Graber while she was on her regular afternoon walk in a park in Fairfield. Miller expressed remorse and apologized to the Graber family, the community, and the police. Goodale's sentencing is scheduled for August.
