Investigation launched into shooting involving Travis County deputy in Austin.

The Austin Police Department is investigating a shooting involving a Travis County Sheriff's Office deputy who opened fire on someone in the 6200 block of the south I-35 frontage road shortly after midnight. It's unclear if the person was hit by gunfire or injured, and the deputy could have been off-duty at the time of the incident. The person the deputy shot at drove away from the scene, and the deputy was not injured.
