Indianapolis Man Arrested and Charged in Connection with Murders of Two Women

David Hiner, a man living near where two women's bodies were found in Indianapolis, has been charged with their murders. Marianne Weis and Shannon Lassere were both found dead with multiple sharp force injuries to the neck, and police found evidence linking Hiner to the crimes. Hiner was seen with Weis on the night of her death, and DNA from blood on his shoes matched that of both victims. The motive remains unknown. Lassere, a mother and grandmother, was remembered as a caretaker, while Weis, who was homeless, was known for carrying stuffed animals for comfort. Hiner, who had been on probation, had spent the past 10 years in prison for aggravated battery.
