Illinois College Graduates Attacked and Killed in Germany

Two American tourists, recent graduates of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, were attacked while hiking near Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. One of the women, Eva Liu, died after being pushed down a slope by a 30-year-old American man she had met while hiking. The man is in police custody on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and attempted sexual offense. The other woman, Kelsey Chang, survived the attack. The women did not know the alleged attacker, who had persuaded them to follow him down a hidden trail leading to a viewpoint before attacking.
