"Former Laurel Police Chief Sentenced to Life for Arson Crimes"

Former Laurel police chief David Crawford has been sentenced to two life sentences and an additional 75 years in prison for multiple arsons. Crawford, who was found guilty on all 12 felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder and arson, had been held without bail since his arrest in March 2021. The sentencing came after a months-long trial, during which victims addressed Crawford in court. Crawford's defense attorney plans to file an appeal.
