Florida Substitute Teacher Arrested for Allowing Student to Use Vape Pen

A substitute teacher in Florida has been arrested and charged with child abuse after allegedly letting a seventh-grader hit her nicotine vape pen on school grounds. Jennifer Gaine Hale, 50, reportedly told the student not to tell anyone about the incident. Although the boy didn’t tell anyone, another student did, and the principal reported the incident to the Lake County School Board Human Resources Department. Hale was later arrested and booked into the Lake County jail on a single charge of child abuse, a third-degree felony.
