Florida Family Sentenced to Federal Prison for Selling Toxic Bleach as Fake COVID-19 Cure

A Florida family, including a father and his three sons, has been sentenced to federal prison for selling a fake COVID-19 cure that contained a toxic bleach. The family members were found guilty of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. by distributing an unapproved and misbranded drug. The sons were also found guilty of contempt of court. The father and one son were sentenced to five years, while the other two sons received a sentence of 12 1/2 years. The family sold the "Miracle Mineral Solution" under the guise of a church and claimed it could cure various diseases. The solution contained sodium chlorite, which becomes a powerful bleach when ingested orally. The FDA has warned against using the product since 2010, as it can cause severe reactions and even death.
