"Florida Deputy's High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest"

An off-duty deputy from Polk County, Florida, was arrested after allegedly fleeing law enforcement at speeds up to 130 mph. The deputy, identified as Jakob Kite, was initially clocked going 85 mph over the speed limit while fleeing his colleagues who were attempting to pull him over. He refused to stop for deputies and drove through multiple zones at high speeds. After several attempts to get him to pull over, a deputy disabled his vehicle and Kite was taken into custody. He was charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, and DUI. Kite resigned from his position with the Polk County Sheriff's Office following the incident.
