Father Pleads Guilty to Triple-Homicide of His Children, Leaving Disturbing Note for Mother

Jason Karels, a father from Round Lake Beach, Illinois, has pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to the murder of his three children, ages 2, 3, and 5, whom he drowned in June 2022. Karels left a note stating, "If I can't have them, neither can you." He had previously pleaded not guilty to the murders. Karels will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
